PIX
Brazil payment method
SportyBet has a strong presence in Africa, particularly in Nigeria and Ghana, and expanded globally to Brazil in 2022. I led the design of the global onboarding experience and created payment flows tailored for the Brazil launch.
One key project was designing for PIX, a payment method exclusive to Brazil and introduced by its Central Bank. PIX has become the country’s leading payment solution and supports the largest e-commerce market in South America.
Feature Optimisation
Onboarding & First Deposit
After the Brazil launch, data revealed that weekly new registrations were underperforming. Through user observation, I identified several barriers preventing users from making their first deposits, with the redundant PIN creation process being a key obstacle—especially since PIX already integrates robust security measures.
To optimize onboarding and deposits, we implemented serval improvements:

Prefixed country and currency settings

Collect user's CPF numbers during registration (Not mandatory)

Disabled the PIN creation step, allowing quicker access to the PIX platform
This enhancements improved the user flow, leading to a 12% increase in registration rates.
Crypto
Deposit & Withdrawal
At Sporty Group, I designed the cryptocurrency deposit and withdrawal process to streamline the implementation of digital currency options, enabling users to deposit with ease and bypass currency restrictions across different countries.
AstroPay
Web & App
AstroPay is a Global wallet service, that simplifies cross-border payments by handling multiple currencies without the complications of local restrictions. To enhances user experience and expands market research, we integrate AstroPay to target international users, particularly in merging markets like South America and Africa. My role was to design a streamlined payment flow to support the seamless integration of AstroPay, ensuring a smooth transaction process for users in these regions.
